Re: Hey!!!
Wed, November 5, 2003 - 10:15 AMI'm quite interested in chemistry, but know nothing. I extremely enjoy altering my states by introducing various chemicals into my body. But, even beyond that I would like to gain a deeper understanding of how everyday chemicals affect me. Right now I'd like to find out more about how sugar affects our chemistry. I have a feeling it's more powerful than we all think. -

Wed, November 5, 2003 - 4:30 PMI agree with you a thousand percent...our internal glucose levels have a major hand in how our body regulates hunger...which is a pretty huge part of being human...sugar definately has untold powers...

Re: Hey!!!
Wed, November 5, 2003 - 11:56 PMAs far as the chemistry, I am not a pharmacist. I do know that sugar is part of what drives us. Everytime you have a need to eat something or a taste for it... it is your body needing something, either to balance it out or improve you mood. Sometimes you can never seem to find what you want that will sooth your craving. Its not food, you might be just bored. I have had too many chemicals in my body, to enhance lifes adventures. It might be pickled already. -

Re: Hey!!!
Thu, June 17, 2004 - 6:41 AMActually suger is highly addictive. I find myself often craving suger in all it forms from pop to candy to anything with an overabundance of it. Suger refining in the last few centuries involved arduous working conditions so they would regularily get slaves, particularily africans, to work the refineries.

Tue, November 11, 2003 - 5:55 PMI believe in this credo so much that I gave over three years of my life to help propagate the freedom of others to also practice this principle. -

Re: Hey!!!
Thu, August 5, 2004 - 4:05 PMcaffeine is a chemical compound found naturally in such foods as coffee beans, tea, cacao beans (chocolate), kola nuts, and guarana. it is well known for its characteristic, intensely bitter taste, and as a stimulant of the central nervous system, heart, and respiration. it is also a diuretic. diuretics make you poo. it is added to some soft drinks such as colas. -

Re: Hey!!!
Thu, August 5, 2004 - 6:10 PMthanks for the lesson prof, however caffeine is a diuretic which makes you pee ... too much coffee might make you diarrhetic, but i think not that it has to do with the caffeine.
from the latin diureticus which means to urinate.
